I joined Greatway in November 2015 and before joining Greatway I was working as a Registered Nurse with AHS and a Clinical Nurse instructor at Bow Valley College. Despite having two stable and well-paying career jobs, I found myself struggling with my finances and spending little time with my family.
I had always believed that having a high-paying job and strong career in the health care industry was the way to find fulfilment in life but the reality was that I was working an extra shift and paying more in taxes, and still feeling financially strained.
When Greatway came into my life, it brought the necessary change that I needed. The reason I joined Greatway was not only for financial literacy but also financial freedom, time freedom, and the possibility of passive income. My family was my driving force and I was determined to make a difference for them. Greatway has transformed my life, my family’s life, and many families’ lives. I chose Greatway because of its strong emphasis on family culture, community, and genuine commitment to helping people.
Now after nine years in the business, my purpose of life has shifted. There is nothing more fulfilling than sharing my knowledge, helping others reach their financial goals, and planting hope in people’s lives.
My husband and I,
being both advisors,
have found a greater
sense of happiness
and fulfilment in what
we do, which is to help
secure and change the
lives of others.
Growing up, I believed that having a high-paying job and a well-known career in the healthcare industry was the only way to find fulfilment in life. To meet expectations, I became a nurse with Perioperative specialization, and even considered pursuing a Doctorate degree.
To earn more money, I worked a lot of shifts, including overtime and holidays. Though the income was great, I found myself paying more in taxes and ending up with nearly the same amount of money as if I had only worked regular hours. The time I spent working tirelessly for a couple of dollars took away valuable moments I could have spent with my husband and family.
I quickly realized that this was not something I could picture myself doing: spending 30-40 years slaving away at work for a fixed amount of money in exchange for time that I could never get back. Time is a luxury that should be spent with loved ones.
Gratefully, I was introduced to Greatway in 2018. Following in the footsteps of my husband, I began working part-time in the business, and Greatway opened new doors for us. The income opportunity enabled me to pay off my student loan debts and live a comfortable life while travelling with our family.
